Safe Korean Opening Patterns
The first line is where letters go wrong. The dictionary word for “you,” 당신, is what a translator hands you, but in a fan letter it lands cold and stiff — so a natural opening uses 안녕하세요 and the idol’s name instead. Getting that first sentence’s register right is what makes the whole letter read like a fan wrote it, not an engine.
The opening line sets the register for everything after it — get 안녕하세요 plus your name and country right and the rest of the letter relaxes. We built these to be easy to combine and hard to misuse.
- Hello — 안녕하세요 Make this into a card
- Dear [Name] — [이름]님께 Make this into a card
- I am a fan who always supports you — 항상 응원하고 있는 팬입니다 Make this into a card
- I am writing because I want to share my feelings — 제 마음을 전하고 싶어서 편지를 씁니다 Make this into a card
Natural First Sentences
After the greeting, move into one short sentence about your connection.
- I have been your fan for a long time — 팬이 된 지 오래됐어요 Make this into a card
- I gained a lot of strength from your music — 당신의 음악을 들으면서 큰 힘을 얻었어요 Make this into a card
- I feel comforted every time I watch your stage — 무대를 볼 때마다 많은 위로를 받아요 Make this into a card
- Thank you for always sharing good music — 항상 좋은 음악 들려줘서 고마워요 Make this into a card
