What does BLINK (블링크) mean?
BLINK is BLACKPINK's official fandom name, and in Korean it is written in Hangul: 블링크. We translate fan messages into Korean all day, in 28 languages, and this is one term our pipeline already handles cleanly — "I'm a proud BLINK" came back as 블링크 every time we tested it. The shorthand works too: Korean fans clip BLACKPINK down to 블핑, and when a message says just "BP", the translator writes out 블랙핑크 rather than leaving Latin letters behind. That matters more than it sounds, because our handwriting practice grid is Hangul-only — anything that survives in roman letters never makes it onto the card.
One thing BLACKPINK's fandom does not have is a coined sign-off like BTS's 보라해. There is no special verb to memorize; the fandom name itself does the work. 데뷔 때부터 블링크예요 — "I've been a BLINK since debut" — says the whole history in one line, and 블링크는 언제나 곁에 있을게요 is how you promise to stay. Every line below is short enough to finish by hand.
- I've been a BLINK since debut — 데뷔 때부터 블링크예요 Make this into a card
- We BLINKs will always be by your side — 블링크는 언제나 곁에 있을게요 Make this into a card
- Being a BLINK makes me so happy — 블링크라서 정말 행복해요 Make this into a card
- Your stages are the best (beulping = BLACKPINK for short) — 블핑 무대가 제일 좋아요 Make this into a card
What does Jenchulichaeng (젠츄리챙) mean?
젠츄리챙 (Jenchulichaeng) is the fan name for all four members at once: 젠 from Jennie, 츄 from Jisoo's nickname, 리 from Lisa, 챙 from Rosé's nickname — she was born 채영 (Chaeyoung). This was the word our pipeline simply could not spell. We ran "I love jenchulichaeng" through it, and the romanization got sounded out wrong — 젠츨리챙, 젠츌이챙; four tests, zero correct. A fan coinage has exactly one spelling, and close is still wrong, so we pinned the four syllables — now it returns 젠츄리챙 on every run. One more thing we noticed while testing: type "Chaeng" on its own and the translator answers with her birth name, 채영 — perfectly correct Korean, though the nickname's warmth gets traded away. If you want the fan word on your card, the lines below already carry it.
- I love all four of you (Jenchulichaeng) — 젠츄리챙 네 명 모두 사랑해요 Make this into a card
- You shine even brighter as four — 네 명이 함께라서 더 빛나요 Make this into a card
- I'll be waiting for the full-group stage — 완전체 무대를 기다릴게요 Make this into a card
- Chaeng's voice comforts me today too (Chaeng = Rosé) — 챙 목소리에 오늘도 위로받아요 Make this into a card
What is the BLACKPINK light stick called in Korean?
Korean fans call the official light stick 뿅봉 — it is shaped like a 뿅망치, the squeaky Korean toy hammer, and international BLINKs write it as Bl-ping-bong. Our pipeline invented a different word here: three runs out of four came back wrong, twice as 블핑봉 — plausible-sounding, but not a word we found fans actually using — and once as 뽀용봉. We pinned it to 뿅봉, and it now comes back right every time. The last three lines below are anniversary lines: BLACKPINK marked ten years since their August 2016 debut this summer, meeting fans as a full group again. We wrote "tenth" out in pure Hangul — 십 주년, not 10주년 — because digits, like roman letters, never make it onto the Hangul handwriting grid. Copy a line as it is, and every character on your card can be practiced stroke by stroke.
- I'll be cheering with my Bl-ping-bong — 뿅봉 들고 응원할게요 Make this into a card
- Happy 10th debut anniversary — 데뷔 십 주년 축하해요 Make this into a card
- Thank you for the whole ten years — 십 년 동안 정말 고마웠어요 Make this into a card
- I'll keep being here with you — 앞으로도 계속 함께할게요 Make this into a card
