ATEEZ fandom terms in Korean: ATINY, 에이티즈, GOLDEN HOUR comeback lines

ATINY, written 에이티니 in Korean, is ATEEZ's official fandom name and the name of the official fan club, announced in November 2018; the fan club marked its seventh anniversary in November 2025. The name is usually explained as ATEEZ plus destiny: the group and the fans were meant to meet. Our app translates fan messages from 28 languages into Korean, and until this week our pipeline wrote ATINY two different ways. When ATINY stood alone in capital letters as the subject of the sentence, as in “ATINY will always be by your side”, it came back as 에이티니 in all 9 runs across English, Japanese and Indonesian. Everywhere else, “I'm a proud ATINY from Brazil”, lower-case atiny, Atiny, the plural atinys and a Spanish sentence, it came back as 아티니 in all 18 runs. 아티니 drops the first sound of the name: the A in ATEEZ is read 에이, and so is the A in ATINY.

The rule we added this week pins ATINY, Atiny, atiny and atinys to 에이티니 and says in plain words that 에이티니 is the fans, never the group. In sentences our rule never shows as examples, “Thank you for making us ATINY, it means everything” and “all the atinys in Mexico are waiting for you” now come back as 에이티니 in 6 of 6 runs each, and both did again on the live site after the update. The Korean lines below are written the way ATINY write it themselves.

ATEEZ is written 에이티즈, and the eight members are 홍중 (Hongjoong), 성화 (Seonghwa), 윤호 (Yunho), 여상 (Yeosang), 산 (San), 민기 (Mingi), 우영 (Wooyoung) and 종호 (Jongho), spelled the way Korean newspapers spell them. All eight renewed their contracts together in July 2025, so this is still the full line-up. Here our translator needed no help: ATEEZ, lower-case ateez, the short form ATZ and a Japanese sentence all came back as 에이티즈 in 12 of 12 runs, and the eight names came back right in every run, including a line that names all eight at once.

That is what made the fandom name stand out. The same translator that reads the A in ATEEZ as 에이 every time read the A in ATINY as 아 in two runs out of three, because 에이티즈 was on its list of group names and 에이티니 was not. Group names and member names are the part of K-pop Korean that translators learn first; fandom names are the part that still needs a rule, which is why this series exists. The lines below use the group name and the members' names exactly as the Korean press writes them.

GOLDEN HOUR : Part.6 is out on November 13, 2026, with the pre-release single Drip out since October 23; it follows GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5 and its title track BAD from June. In Korean the album is written 골든 아워 : 파트 6 and the single 드립, and our translator got both right in every run we tried. All-caps titles are the exception, and we would rather say so: BAD and WORK stayed in Latin letters in all 3 runs each, before and after this week's rule, which was never about titles. Latin letters cannot be written on a Hangul-only card, so a title that stays in English simply drops out of the handwritten line.
